Key Employee Initiative (KEI) Fact Sheet

KEI FACILITATES THE ISSUANCE OF A WORK AND RESIDENCE PERMIT WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS TO NON-EU/EEA OR SWISS NATIONALS

The Key Employee Initiative (“KEI”) provides fast-tracked service to highly specialised third country nationals (“TCN”) who are employed in Malta. The scheme will facilitate the issuance of work/residence permits to prospective key employees within five working days from the date of submission of the application. The scheme is eligible to managerial or highly-technical posts which require the relevant qualifications or adequate experience relating to the job being offered.
