Professional Investor Funds
Professional Investor Funds (PIF) are licensed by the MFSA under the Investment Services Act.
A category 2 license or more is required to establish a PIF under the Investment Services Act.
A PIF may be incorporated as a:
1. Investment company with an open-ended or closed-ended variable share capital (SICAV)
2. Investment company with a fixed share capital (INVCO)
3. Public limited liability company
4. Limited Partnership
5. Unit Trust
Moreover, a PIF may also take the form of a multi-class fund or an umbrella fund.
